Autometer Electronic Fuel Sender Leak

My Autometer electronic fuel sender started leaking. I think it was simply the fuel pressure it was at, or perhaps the cold temperatures hardened a seal. Well i just took it out, and I'll have auto meter send me a new one.

So if you have one watch out. Maybe mine was faulty.

Another one bites the dust... You're like the 5th person I've heard of that has had an electronic FP sender fail on them. My intellitronix one failed after one weed of use and almost became a flame thrower. TeamFX had his autometer one fail too. What the heck!?!? I guess that's why these electronix FP gauges are so inexpensive.

Do you have the full sweep (little grey sender and black box) FPG? Don't the 2 different ones have different senders? I will def check mine for leaks just to be on the safe side.

My apologies...I went back and read an e-mail from Nick and realized that he DID tell me that it never worked to begin with. Sorry for the misinformation everyone. As of right now, I'm still waiting for Nordskog Products (formerly Intellitronix) to send me another sender. Hopefully their "new design" is a little more reliable.

Lets not get to "Bashing" the Autometer gauges without the WHOLE story...

First, it is NO secret that the quality level of the half sweep gauge is lower than that of the full sweep gauge. If you merely compare the two sending units, you will see this for yourself. I suspect that there will be a greater number of failures in the lower cost product.

As for Nick's gauge: it did NOT fail. As far as he knows, it never worked. He called me and asked how to diagnose the wiring to get it working... so apparently Manchester Honda wired it originally... and there is a possibility of a "Goof" on their part which would render the gauge useless... and I doubt very seriously that anyone there would admit it. Nobody stepped up and admitted to robbing the car OR scratching it while it sat in the service drive... why would they admit to destroying a gauge ?!?
I have installed PLENTY of full sweep electric fuel pressure gauges without the first hiccup or failure.

BTW, Nick's gauge has been replaced by Autometer... no questions asked.

Is the half sweep sender the same damn sender that comes with the Oil pressure gauge? I noticed that the half sweep was WAYYYY cheap compared to the full sweep and I recall seeing a photo of the sending unit and it looks just like the one Autometer sends with the oil pressure sender. Just wondering????
